A little Something

The hinges are rusted
On every door in this town
You don’t change your routine
You don’t fool around
I spent my whole life
Here in this box
I just need a little something
To take the edge off
To take the edge off

Any road that you go down
Will just bring you back here
Man, I try and I try
Year after year
I wait down at the station
But the trains never stop
I just need a little something
To take the edge off
To take the edge off

Guess I’ll learn how to smile
How bad could it be
I’m sure after awhile
It’s not as hard as it seems
I’ll get a bloodhound and a torch
And join up with the mob
I just need a little something
To take the edge off
To take the edge off

I just need a little something
To take the edge off
To take the edge off
