Days First Dream

I went to college
2001
But all of the good jobs were gone
By the time I was done
So now I work construction
local 42
I don’t like it, but I got bills to pay
So it’s just somthing that I do
It’s just something that I do

My wife’s name is Juile
We live up town
We survive on our dreams and our love
We don’t ever look down
But dreams are just dreams
And fools are just fools
Cause the poor stay poor, amen
It’s just something they do
It’s just something they do

Julie’s from the city
And I’m from up state
We met somewhere out in the middle
On the hard luck interstate
She said you look like your lost
I said well, so do you
Then we drove off together, thats life
It’s just something people do
It’s just something people do

We get along alright
Yea we got some good friends
Donna & Frank they always come through
When we’re short on rent
And there all just like us
They got nothing much to lose
They live each day for the day
It’s just something that we do
It’s just something that we do

Julie tends bar
Nearly every night
When I’m coming she’s going
It’s rough, yea, but that’s life
She wants to be a teacher
She wants to go back to school
So we save just a litte each month
It’s all we can do
It’s all we can do

I can see through the blinds
The sky is cold and grey
I lean over and give Juels a kiss
Then I go out and start my day
I scrape off my windshield
I shake off my blues
Then I dream the days first dream
It’s just something that I do
It’s just something that I do
